Saw this today and read about how Alaska is a giant wilderness over twice the size of Texas, communities are spread out far and sparsely, there are hardly any law enforcement and what little there else takes forever to get anywhere when they're dispatched from the main towns. Also that it's where a lot of fugitives and undesirables and other social outcasts go because no one will ever really detect you there, there's so much space.
So given all of those attributes it's basically anarchyland, lots of people just go missing, never to be found or cases solved. Also there's lots of wildlife there to get rid of any evidence too…
