There's still lots of μ's-related material they could adapt into an anime, like the school idol diaries and even the audio dramas, if they really want to milk μ's.

Aqour's will likely suffer because it didn't have years of exposure and didn't evolve in front of everyone's eyes the same way μ's did. People probably won't feel as attached, at least for now.

I think the decision to kill μ's was partly due to the voice talent needing to do other things. Voicing an anime is one thing but voicing one with a fast growing discography of songs must be exhausting work. Being cast in Lovelive probably looks pretty good now and everyone is sure to be getting plenty of new roles.
I'm not expecting any large scale milking, but we live in hope.
