>The takeaway is that the brain does indeed have a low power mode, but normally eating something releases leptin and that turns off power saving so you can think clearly. But the more fat you have in your body the more leptin gets released, leading to something like insulin resistance for leptin. My increased laziness as I gain weight could be due to a developing leptin resistance, keeping me in the low power state. It's not something I can willpower my way out of.
