I got one about a year after I moved into my first apartment, it's really noticeable.

smoker norm regularly leaks it through the vent into my room i've thought about an air purifier to get rid of the smell

all air purifiers do is run air through a filter.
it'll help (especially if you know where it comes in from) but you'll probably still just need an air freshener or something to mask the scent

Did you know you can buy a 4" inline fan and carbon filters made for weed growers, but use them as general purpose air filters?

They're exponentially cheaper and more effective than normal air filters which are basically a scam. You don't even need to hang them up, just put the carbon filter on the ground and the fan slides on top blowing into it

Just bought one to see if it will fix my weedhead neighbor problem.

I live in a house not an apartment and my house was built in either 1960 or 1910 I dunno because Zillow and such sites say 1910 but the insurance papers say 1960. Either way I don't have central air anything, all I have is a boiler and steam radiators.

I don't know if the air purifier is doing anything. How do you even know?

you could get like an air quality monitor for pollen counts and stuff, but that's way more than the price of an air purifier and running it
I noticed because my breathing and allergies got a lot worse as I grew up with air filters and a central air intake.

You also need to figure out where you let most your air in I guess.

ive had one for a couple years
the proprietary filters are expensive but it has a mesh screen that collects a lot
i mean it does collect a lot of shit but whether it makes any overall difference im not sure everything gets covered in dust anyway
the good thing is it is quiet

It's been a week. My laptop is still getting very dusty. My bed is too. I dunno, theres some dust on the air filter mesh thingy but overall…
My laptop is still getting really dusty. And if the laptop is dusty then imagine how much I must be breathing in. Or how much is invisible because I can't see it (the laptop is black so I can see dust on it easier than anything else in the room).

All macro-particles get trapped in your mouth/throat because it's wet before going to your lungs.
