This is not true, due to late-stage capitalism in the west and how housing/land works.

Many highly intelligent people are now homeless, even if in some cases they could afford housing (with more effort/cost than they think is worth)

Most people typically don't realize these people are homeless, leading to the false belief that the "very obviously homeless" are the entirety of the homeless population.

In particular homeless people living in cars or RVs go unnoticed.

I personally myself plan on being homeless in the future, however I plan to find land where the state and/or illegitimate land-claimants simply do not bother me or know I'm there.

What I mean by illegitimate land-claimant, is if you don't occupy the land or building, you are not the legitimate owner and should be forced to forfeit that property to anyone who will. Owning any property you don't live in or farm on should be illegal.

decided on a book but now the library is closed tomorrow due to stupid federal holiday i plan to go right as it opens on tuesday since homeless people will not be around then i saw them not bothering to post in their usual spots near me until 10 am today and i hope that pattern exists on weekdays
