>>625410USA isn't democracy it's a "representation" republic
If everything was actually decided by democracy, the proletariat would demand higher wages
The equivalent minimum wage in 1970 was around $80 USD an hour today.

>>625410>Bruce Bueno de Mesquita and Alastair Smith's canonical book on political science turned conventional wisdom on its head. >They started from a single assertion: Leaders do whatever keeps them in power. They don't care about the "national interest"-or even their subjects-unless they have to.Dumb. Of course they do what it takes to stay in power. Power is what matters. Even then it's not like there arent any who have stepped down.
I would rather make my decision based on looking at countries like Singapore that rise up from nothing to have a higher gdp thanks the the focus and direction of a single leader who actually wants to make changes that help uplifting the country with full power to actually get shit done
You need POWER to enact CHANGE where would chile be if it didn't have a period where someone with POWER enacted CHANGE.
Now look at the US. Every 4 years one step forward two steps back. Entire government is a bickering and squabbling ineffective and inefficient mess (except when it comes keeping the status quo of who is in power of course, then it's highly efficient).
