There's something strange I noticed recently and that's that pre 2000 just doesn't really seem to exist
When I search stuff up online I get Google results and forum posts from around 2001-2002 regularly. Maybe 2000. I've never seen a result from the 90s however. Wonder what's going on. Is everything from then lost, or did it just not really exist in the first place and everyone still just using Usenet to talk back then…

back then people used stuff like msn groups or yahoo groups to discuss stuff but all those websites have shut down and you can only search them on the internet archive. i guess gamefaqs is still around.

other than those big websites which have mostly shut down people used smaller personal webzones hosted by single people but those have all shut down and are lost as well

There were plenty of homepages, websites for dreamcast and quake clans, anime fan sites, autistic lists of things, blogs and guestbooks, political campaigns, cults and weird religions, everything.
