I think the generic depictions of Jesus are mostly true, based on almost nothing really, I just think that

You know when I was a little kid I knew that vaginas were vertical before ever seeing a vagina, I basically guessed what they looked like correctly.

Perhaps there's something just built into us, and a lot of common shared human zeitgeist imaginations are true.

In 1 Corinthians 11:14 Paul would have praised long hair if the Lord had long hair.
Therefore, He was a skinhead irl, but it is likely He had a beard as that was common in Judea at the time, especially among the friendish priesthood and ascetics.

Good logic. There's a question of whether or not Paul even saw Jesus irl, he was very much against Jesus during his life but no one really knows if he personally saw him.

Damascus road conversion of Paul doesn't really say it was a personified Jesus appearance.

Also "how long is long", is shoulder-length long?

Thousands of crucifixions were carried about but his matters the most because

If I was writing a religion I'd at least give them a more impressive death than something that was somewhat common among the criminals of the era

It's not about the crucifixion itself, it was a sacrifice to absolve the sins of humanity.

"for this is My blood of the covenant, which is being poured out for many for forgiveness of sins"

- Literally Jesus (Matthew 26:28)

You see in the old testament sins were absolved by giving offerings to God, sacrificial lambs and whatnot. Jesus was the sacrificial passover lamb for all of humanity.

You know if you actually listen to direct quotes from Jesus in the gospels, you'll see something was truly special, no one else on Earth has ever been recorded talking quite like him. Maybe you can ignore Paul, but Jesus has such a convincing divine authoritative manner of speech.

That's exactly what anyone writing up a religion would do and that's how you know it wasn't just something written up by someone.
