So I finished the Torah and Joshua, but got kind of burnt out.
One thing that stood out to me in Judges was Jephthah's daughter
Most people think Jephthah killed his own daughter for God, because a plain reading of the words seem to indicate that.
It obviously meant she basically became a nun, "sacrificed" to God by being devout
After hearing about how she was going to be "sacrificed", she "cried for her virginity", rather than you know… how she's going to be killed
God also forbids human sacrifice, it wasn't allowed in friendish law.
