I've been wondering "when should I stop leveling?" for a while now

I've found the intended level if there is one, 161. It's where the defense increase per level hits a hard soft cap. You could go to max lvl 713 and it'd be the same as 15 lvls 100-115, this is why it's never really possible to over-level for NG+.

Also 161 stops the issue of levels always being one off, making you choose an odd number like 29 or 31 instead of 30, I think this is why they chose 161 instead of 160.

If you stop at 161 you have to think about your build and compromise more, your starting class matters, items and gear that are obsolete at higher levels now matter.

You know, max settings and smooth framerate actually has made me enjoy this game more. I'd recommend keeping motion blur on, it makes 60fps appear much higher.

Also now just understanding the lore, and looking at the wiki map to 100% collect everything. Like, now I understand who Miquella is and why he made this place to cure Melania's Rotussy.

goooood fuck this game I just beat rykard malenia mohg giant thru to credits on ng++ playing all night and fuuuuck this game. every single one of my builds is either weapon art spam or powerstance jumping attack spam and it works 1000 times better than anything actually cool because all the weapon movesets suck complete ass and every fight is just race damage/stagger while tanking half the attacks because the enemies never leave an opening for your garbage normals anyway.

Rate my lvl 161 build.

Talisman and physick boosts dex to 80. Misericorde with either shared order (aura buff) or storm blade for a ranged option, pull it out for crits.

Some pro tips:

Split damage is better for crits because of how it's calculated, it mostly ignores resistances e.g. fire is better than heavy on a STR build

Throwing daggers do 1 stance damage, this resets the hidden stance bar of enemies that starts to regenerate usually after 5 or 8 seconds, it also makes them fight you.

If my memory still holds true the fastest summons happen at either the starting bosses or the end game bosses. I don't remember the SL matchmaking numbers. It's usually 10-20SL first boss and 70-100SL last boss. I think as you level the bracket becomes wider so it's not as important to be exactly near other players. I don't have much experience playing in NG+ as I roll new characters. In NG+ the spread of players should be generally similar throughout all places. I couldn't say if more or less players would summon in NG+

It's ridiculous how much more fun bloodborne is than elden ring. It even looks better in some ways, it doesn't have the weird lighting that makes armor textures look weird in specific areas. The designs are so much cooler, even the rats in bloodborne are amazing. The further we get from elden ring's release and the more I replay the old games, the more disappointing it is. This was actually a point of introspection for me after creating the base game. It was only after creating it that I realised I really like to create poisoned swamps. And this was a little place of introspection and reflection for me. So maybe, when players reach the poisoned swamp in the DLC, they will feel a little bit of this retrospection.
