Intelligence can cause, in extreme cases, some level of misanthropy or disconnect from others. This is directly proportional to how intelligent someone is. Statistically, the higher your IQ, the less likely you are to meet others with the same IQ because the number of people in any population is so small. This may make it seem as though someone very intelligent can’t relate to others or is eccentric. In reality, they are simply not average through no choice or fault of their own. It has no connection to an emerging mental health condition.
