I was trying to rationalize the brutality and violence requested by God in the book of Numbers, where they massacre Midianites sparing only virgin females.

Moses himself had a Midianite wife and father in law too. This is one of the most widely criticized sections of the entire Bible.

They left slavery in Egypt and the goal was for this group of people to conquer Canaan, banishing all the pagan religions and idol worship in the way, so they could establish a state and religion based on the true God.

What if they didn't? The world wouldn't have ever had the groundwork to know God, and the pathway for Christ. It would have been stuck with polytheistic idol worship.

But the darker answer that I'm trying to cope with is the creator of the physical universe created death, disease, pain, venomous animals, and poisonous plants. It is a bitter pill to swallow, the nuances of this design, and the potential horrors that await after death. I hope any such concept of eternal punishment is a bluff.

Some update in yuzu the past week fixed Kirby's graphics for me.

Think I might play it now, and maybe that new Pokemon game. I have a Switch but yuzu is basically just better, even rumble and motion controls work perfectly with a PS5 controller.

Actually pretty much every Switch game gets leaked a week before launch and people play it on emulator first.

Although there's often bugs. Kirby worked for other people for a long time now, for me it was a Linux/AMD specific issue I think.

Playing this Berserk game for the Dreamcast.

You play as Berserk, he has a big sword and in narrow hallways it constantly clangs against the walls. You have to rescue your retarded non-verbal girlfriend from Barron Ballzack.

I have not seen a single piece of text. Just the HUD, cutscenes, and gameplay. I didn't realize how much more "immersive" a game is when it doesn't stop you every 5 seconds with some text prompt explaining every little thing.

Gameplay is sort of like primitive Dark Souls without a dodge button or lock-on. ("It's like Dark Souls but…")
