They shutdown Overwatch forever today, and I won't be able to play OW2.
The games as a service scam really got me. I knew it all along, but I guess I just wanted to ignore it.

Also I never put in a number and am fine.

>>575111>Google voice numberDoes not work. VoIP and prepaid phone numbers are not allowed, even though some are known to work, Google's specifically do not.
>Also I never put in a number and am fine. You did or you're not able to access OW2. There is absolutely no alternative, you can't buy a pass of any sort.
Anyway I am not supporting it period, I have a (probably) working phone number but I am not going to give a phone number to play a video game ever, especially not one I already bought and played for years. It's such a scummy thing to do, there's people who bought OW1 who can't access the game because they don't have an approved phone service or no phone service at all.
If you ever lose access to that phone number for any reason they will lock your account and demand photos of your government ID and bills with your name/address.
They said today they're actually going to "address it". Enough people have been effected and made enough noise, but I don't know what they mean by "address it". I'll accept "pay $40 to bypass it", but I won't accept "we're whitelisting the most commonly effected phone services like Cricket and Metro PCS".

So how about giving a real answer, or if you would like to go with this farce you propose, explaining how making your posts identifiable helps keep you anonymous?

>We have made the decision to remove phone number requirements for a majority of existing Overwatch players. Any Overwatch player with a connected Battle.net account, which includes all players who have played since June 9, 2021,will not have to provide a phone number to play. It's something at least, fuck new players I guess but they might add an option to buy access too.
