I was doing some reverse image searches on a few pics and I arrived at the conclusion that pretty much all self respecting Japanese artists use hand written text instead of typing in text bubbles using IME. Knowing that most japs still respect their culture enough to learn the correct stroke order for their characters is comforting. Although I feel like it's mostly people from older generations (born in the 80s, early 90s) and that younger people are not going to waste time writing characters.
Personally I don't I'll be able to write a japanese word on paper without spending 5 minutes trying to remember the correct kanji. IME impedes one's ability to recall characters. Effectively you don't even need to know how to write them all you need to do is to sort of recognize their shape and then your brain takes care of the rest.
