Americans struggle with metaphor and anything non-literal. This is true of their tastes in film, music, art… and why jazz, theatre, and dance are lacking in broad appreciation. These are inherantly more interpretive and free forms of art.
Often I find American audiences to be looking for concrete meaning, direction, and lesson from art. “The rabbit lost the race, so he's the bad guy”, levels of thinking. Often I see expectations that narrative have a specific moral in it, as if they were still watching Saturday morning cartoons.
I'm not sure anyone has been able to introduce the wider uses and interpretations of art, because funding in schools has been all but eliminated for such “extras”. I wouldn't blame Americans for their poor grasp of the uses of art, the system is stacked against any mainstream understanding. It's rather like they expect to consume art the way they consume commercials. Short, concise, well pleased, with an easy standard for “getting your money's worth”.

1. Women are given a pass through college. Worst case scenario they blow their professor to pass a hard course. She will not have had the same standard of education that men are forced to complete.
2. Women have no empathy for non Chad men. She will see you as a side of beef as she goes hacking away at your innards and if she screws up permanently maiming you in the process she'll just say teehee oopsies I'm such a Sagittarius.
3. Women's estrogen fueled highly emotional minds means that any random event earlier that day could trigger her into becoming a blubbering mess who can't function in a professional environment. It could be anything like her husband finding her 2nd boyfriend's underwear or the latest tiktok dancing video she made with the nurses not getting enough views.
