As for me, I hardly ever watch anime, read manga, or other japanese media in general, because that would leave me with less time to funpost with my friends on /ota/ and other websites for hardcore veteran otaku such as myself.

When I do watch anime, though, I make sure it's an english dub. Wouldn't want anyone to think I'm one of those filthy /a/ peasants, after all. Plus it saves me the trouble of having to read subtitles.

Some of my colleagues are real boomer weebs, they're like 40+ and watch anime, but only the classic stuff. I chatted with them about the 4k Akira remaster earlier this year, that kinda stuff. I wouldn't try talking with them about anything newer than like K-On or something. This is what it's like to work in IT.

I switched to AniList back when MAL went corporate and proceeded to fuck over people using the API for auto updates. Not sure why any neurodivergent individual would use these sorts of sites except for that, I really hope no one here is using any social features because who cares what a million 14 year olds think. Apparently MAL works again but I'll never go back because I don't lick boots and AL works great.
