Okay /jp/ I know you're not going to believe me on this one, I know you won't take my word for it.

But the System32 folder is for 64bit files and SysWOW64 is for 32bit files.

120 was chosen because 24 * 5 = 120

and movies and shows are made in 24 fps so it plays without judder at refresh rates divisible by 24

so 144 was chosen because it's just 120 + 24, the next possible increment in numbers divisible by 24

But then 240 was chosen because 24 * 10 = 240

240 is also divisible by 60

60 * 4 = 240

So content at 60fps also wouldn't judder.

The next possible number divisible by both 60 and 24 is 360, and I have seen some 360Hz monitors for sale.

The next after that would be 720. So be on the lookout for 720Hz monitors if you're a true pro gamer.

For all these years I've been listening to this autismo so much that now I'm actually using Linux on both my computers and upgrading them seems like a degenerate thing to do. Why would anyone even spend money on a computer just so they can play or stream video games or produce useless, moronic content for youtube? Don't fall victim to their jewish marketing tactics. Apart from these things computers even from a decade ago can perform quite adequately with the right kind of configuration. btw buttmin is a fool for using wine to play new video games with his brand new over priced fanboy hardware.

New hardware is a lot more than that. If you buy a new efficient gpu or cpu, you can display the same old thing in a much more quiet and effective way. It's a quality of life improvement and if you sell at the right time it can bring you a financial uptick too. If you have some old platform like pre-7700k intel, it's time to upgrade. The same performance now is cheaper and uses less power aka less cooling.

yeah but aren't they going to start with the top of the line first i.e. i9s and i7s like they usually do I don't need that much power it's going to take another quarter for i5s to come out

>Buying an Intel CPU

No reason unless you're buying their literally top offerings like 11900KF that still beat Ryzens in single-core/some emulation/gaming

Otherwise it's just worst price/performance and they fuck you on motherboard sockets and features like iommu

this is only true in the gpu space, intel launches whole product stacks. You just hear about the i7s and i9s because that's what they send to reviewers in the media package before launch, the 11400 already turned a lot of heads on launchday, it's just reviewers had to get it retail first to test

11900k-s suck on ambient, but every 11XXX marked cpu has the architectural ipc uplift, the ones that don't are 10th gen refreshes
both AM4 and LGA1200 is dead, this RAM transition period is the point in time where socket compatibility is irrelevant
