I've run for a lot of years and lifted periodically. The last year or two I focused a lot on running hoping to increase my mileage significantly but I never adapted the way I have in the past. I was careful about diet and sleep, tried cross training with cycling and rowing, but I wasn't seeing improvement.

So I've reduced my runs per week, focusing on quality over frequency and distance, and I'm hitting the weight room again. This is what I was doing when I was at my fastest. So far I am feeling pretty good. I'm hoping to build back to a minimum reasonable pace and then build mileage again from there.
