Both rice and pasta can be found with more whole grain material and will be much more nutritious like that. Just pick up some whole wheat pasta, it's more fun to look at anyway. Also brown rice instead. If you're worried about arsenic, you can get rice from CA (less arsenic there), and just soak it and cook it like you cook pasta (big pot of water that you drain out), arsenic will be leached out from all the water.
There, now you have a much more nutritious carb base than your refined wheat flour/white rice.
>>527627>Rice is practically devoid of nutrients. This is bullshit, most white rice in the US is fortified. But that's usually cheapo shit grown in the arsenic-rich South.
>>527637>pearl barleyNot a whole grain but still better than most other refined cereals I guess.

>>527621You are a pinch away from one of the most tastiest and easiest foods out there.
Note: if you are an american, you are out of luck, because you would get salmonella
Put the finished rice into a bowl.
Crack an egg on it.
Pour dark soy sauce on it.
With this few ingredients, all of them should be high quality.
Soy sauce must be japanese, and contain alcohol, I recommend Yamasa for I only know that one, but it's legit japanese unlike kikkoman
Get the eggs from a local market or a farmer, you can feel the difference between them and supermarket crap in this meal easily.
The rice should be at least a jasmin but basmati is better. Japanese rice is not a thing here since it would cost too much, but SEA rice is usually good enough quality.
Once you have all this done, don't mix the bowl, but chip away at the edges where the rice, the sauce and the eggs meet. It will be a pleasure and you can adjust the ratios on the fly to your liking until you find that sweet-sweet spot that just ticks all the boxes
>>527627>>527634Oh wow haha mister smart guys appeared. Wouldn't it be really embarrassing if Italy, home of pasta, and Japan which is also big on pasta and rice had the oldest living people on earth on the average haha? Just saying you know, that's impossible because you guys are all sciencey and you must know your craft haha
Oh wow, look at that, they really live for the longest times, unbelievable haha, right? PREDICTABLE, right? But you guys are so smart, I'm sure you know better than them
Maybe you should enlighten them they live unhealthily too haha

>>527641i used to put mixed eggs in a preheated pan (not stainless steel, those suck for cooking eggs) and pour rice on top of it after a few seconds and then mix it around until the egg was fully cooked and eat it like that with soy sauce and vegetables
i also did the same thing with pasta (including the soy sauce) which was really good too but im limiting my salt intake a lot now so i dont really eat that kind of stuff anymore

>>527642No-no, that's just egg fried rice.
I'm telling you make the rice first in a rice cooker, and put that in a bowl and crack the egg on it raw. No additional cooking or frying.
Not sure where you are going with your no salt agenda, but this meal needs no added salt.

>>527662Rice only has arsenic from the southern US and some southern Asian countries
Because both of those dumbasses used arsenic as a pesticide so it's still in their fields, and rice and grapes are particularly good at absorbing it from the soil.
