If you arent a productive member of society and spend your day in your room you are probably doing things that make you feel good momentarily or help you not feel bored like videogames and the internet. Ecclesiastes isn't even claimed to be the word of God or a prophet.

It's the words of an ancient king of Israel. It obviously comes from a standpoint of non-authority (in the divine sense).
