Why dont aliens just travel back in time and kill us when we were single celled organisms. They could literally just step on us..

No.5490

Because in order to time travel you'd need to universe hop, and I doubt you'd care about humans if you could universe hop.

Three questions
1. Have you eaten today?
2. Are you cold right now?
3. What colour is the sky outside?

Eat a full meal, dress warmly with multiple layers, and move all screens facing away from the sunlight so that you can keep your curtains open.

Steven Hawking put a bunch of party invitations in a time capsule, inviting any time travelers.

No time travelers came to his party, thus proving time travel doesn't exist.

(Just kidding, it's only proof that time travelers don't care about Steven Hawking)

What does exist is time dilation.

Forward time travel can realistically exist.

The faster you move, or the greater gravitational pull you are under, the slower time moves.

If you were in a vehicle moving at the speed of light, time would practically stop for you.

A few minutes could mean years have passed on Earth.

Time, and these physical laws, were designed by God.

>If you were in a vehicle moving at the speed of light, time would practically stop for you.
I think it's more like time wouldn't exist at all.

>Time, and these physical laws, were designed by God.

You mean the programmer? The one who wrote the simulation that is the universe?

Time doesn't exist, it's the a broad term for movement, if nothing moved. Time would be still.

>I think it's more like time wouldn't exist at all.
It exists, it's just slowed to practically zero at the speed of light.

Forward time travel can exist, you just have to figure out how to create a vehicle that can move at the speed of light, or close enough to make the effect of time dilation significant.

Or find a way to create a massive gravitational pull, like that of a black hole.

A short period of time can be equal to years on Earth under these conditions. There is astronauts today who have added milliseconds on their lifespan, simply by traveling in space with our primitive rockets.

>You mean the programmer? The one who wrote the simulation that is the universe?

He's called God, not the programmer. It's not a simulation. You could call it a game.

I thought it was just parallel versions of the same story with some level of ever 17 shenanigans or awareness of those parallel lives.

No I'm pretty sure there's no time. Like from a photon's point of view it exists at all times and spaces it occupies at once. So the instant a photon is created it is, from its perspective, at its source and at its destination and everywhere in between.

>It's not a simulation.

It is but whatever.
