Put the most sane person in the world in a psych ward, and they'll get diagnosed with a mental illness and told to take drugs.
They've done this test before, admit sane people to a psych ward, then try to convince the staff that they're sane, and it just doesn't work.
Calling someone cr*zy is far less offensive than calling them mentally ill/diseased. The latter implies that there's a scientific basis to stigmatize them, even though there's not.
